McGovern Med at UTHealth Emergency Medicine Department Chair, Ben Bobrow, and Director of Implementation Science, Micah Panczyk, teamed up on October 14 with a host of resuscitation experts at EMS World Expo to produce a first-of-its-kind: a hands-on High-Performance CPR training as prescribed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s CPR LifeLinks “implementation toolkit.”
The sold-out class aimed at achieving guideline-recommended care through the practice of individual skills and team choreography. The training was followed on October 16 by a CPR LifeLinks outreach presentation that centered on the story of a 4-year-old boy who was successfully resuscitated by 9-1-1 and EMS responders in Bend, Oregon after suffering out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
